The Textile Insect Pest (TIP) e-Course will equip you with the appropriate information, instruction and training according to the requirements of the Control of Pesticides Regulation 1986 (C.O.P.R). The course is taken via email correspondence. You will be sent the relevant information (Presentation and comprehensive Manual) together with a question sheet.

You will be notified, via email, very quickly as to whether or not you have passed the course. Successful applicants will be given a certification number. This number must be quoted when purchasing insecticide which is for use by professionals only. You will also receive a Certificate.

You will then be approved to use pesticides as part of your work for the control and treatment of Textile Insect Pests including beetles, moths, fleas etc.

The course covers:

Insect types, including egg hatching times, identifying larvae, insect habits and the potential sources of the insect to prevent recontamination.
Harborages – hiding places, egg sites and pupa hatching sites. Including the possible need for return visits in the case of some insects.
Personal Protective Equipment and Health and Safety recommendations for using professional insecticide.
Application rules and environmental safety rules for the use of the insecticide in the United Kingdom (rules for other European countries may vary) and much more.
